2019 Rosé of Grenache
Monterey County, California
Nestled atop the foothills in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands and Carmel Valley in Monterey County, California, lies the family owned and operated Boekenoogen Vineyards and Winery. The combination of superior clones, rocky well-drained soils, meticulous viticulture practices, foggy mornings, and sunny afternoons moderated by a cooling maritime breezes, has resulted in superior grapes that we are proud to work with.
Our blush colored Rosé of Grenache was hand picked in the cool of the night, hand sorted at the winery, and then whole cluster pressed. The wine settled and cooled overnight before being transferred into neutral French oak barrels for fermentation and aging. The wine remained in the neutral oak barrels for seven months, adding balance and complexity to the wine. This Rosé opens up with aromas of freshly cut strawberry, juicy watermelon, and guava, with a hint of fresh grapefruit. The rich, soft, exotic flavors are beautifully balanced with the fresh natural acidity and boast a long, juicy finish.
